Florentine Kitchen Knives

Our main goal with this project was to make use of waste. We reshaped steak knife blades from a model we no longer make and cast a mixture of composite dust left over from our CNC machines operation and leftover resin from our regular assembly, into silicone molds over the tangs of the blades. We also made a cast side dish for butter made of the same compost dust.

Florentine Kitchen Knives is a Poblenou based brand founded in 2012 by industrial designer Tomer Botner who was later joined by his wife Noam Blumenthal, a fashion designer. Each year, FKK release limited editions of the signature stacked handled knives and have made custom kitchen and table knives for many of the world’s finest restaurants and most accomplished cooks as well as cooking lovers around the globe.
