Born in 1979 in Susegana, near Treviso in Italy's Veneto region, Casagrande's culinary journey began with a deep-rooted passion for cooking, inspired by family gatherings and traditional Italian feasts. He honed his skills at the Alfredo Beltrame Hospitality School in Vittorio Veneto, followed by enriching experiences in prestigious kitchens across Europe, including stints in Milan, London, and Paris, where he worked alongside renowned chefs such as Alain Solivérès.

In 2003, Casagrande's career took a pivotal turn when he joined the esteemed chef Martín Berasategui at his eponymous restaurant in the Basque Country. Demonstrating exceptional talent and dedication, he was entrusted to lead the M.B. restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton Abama in Tenerife, where he earned his first Michelin star in 2009. After a successful tenure in Italy overseeing the opening of the CastaDiva Resort on Lake Como, Casagrande reunited with Berasategui in 2012 to helm Lasarte in Barcelona.
